In Venezuela, the livestock business consists of three steps, breeding, raising and fattening. The lift is where the change in weight, metabolism, type and proportion of developed tissues occurs. In the lift it begins at weaning and ends according to age or when it reaches an ideal weight for fattening or finishing. The referential weaning weight for Venezuela is usually 130 lbs at 8 and 9 months, from there the lifting stage to grazing begins to reach approximately 770 lbs and later the fattening process begins to reach approximately 1.000 to 1.100 lbs . It is in this last stage where the selection process begins, where we look for bulls, zebu type, for their respective slaughter and commercialization.
