Landrace is a Danish breed of pig, characterized by its versatility and its production rates at the meat level. This breed is usually used as a pure maternal or paternal line and is recognized as a lean type.
It has a longer carcass length than other breeds and its fat content is low, so the percentage of net ham and bacon is usually quite high. Its ability to adapt to adverse climates is one of its most outstanding characteristics.
